From the day I set down my manuscript amongst all the others I’ve constantly debated, and pondered the question: who will buy Zoe, who will care?

I freely admit that out of my wealth of stories, and the allegiance of readers to many of my fanfiction tales, Zoe, is nothing like anything I’ve written before or since. Yet, from the moment I penned it I believed in it’s beauty, its simplicity, its love story. So while many encouraged me to publish my gangster romance – or my contemporary tale of a dancer and her Irishman, Zoe was it for me.

So who will buy Zoe? Besides my friends, co-workers, and people I beg on the streets, I think I know who will see what I see. The reader that loves timeless pieces, the reader who seeks an escape to a world so different their own, the reader who just likes a good old-fashioned love story. But if I am successful there is another reader that will take a chance on this forbidden romance. The novice to historical romances – like I was when I penned this tale. The virgin eyes that will be opened to something new and not shy away from the experience.

I think reading should be a journey, and that the roads less traveled are the most rewarding. So out of all the manuscripts to bring me into the world of publishing. Zoe is the most fitting. I hope the reader that buys my book sees it that way as well. Love it or hate it, if they see half of what I’ve tried to convey, then I’ll consider it a job well done!
