I must confess finding time to write lately has become quite a chore. A Summer filled with two small kids, a overbearing and demanding job, and personal health issues have thrown me off my center. This I admit freely. Still my mind does not rest, there is no sleep for the weary. I must, must, must continue. Not for monetary gain (though I secretly pray for a best seller that would mean I could write freely) but for a chance to express the stories that swirl in my head with no rhyme or reason.
So great news. Vacation baby! Yes, I’m taking four days to relax on a beach under a tropical sun, with a flappy beach hat and pen and notebook (yes old school). I will reconnect with characters that are waiting to be heard again (Mel and Aiden). I will open up to the horror series of books I’ve been putting on the back shelf. I will work diligently to conclude Before Sunrise. I will! I will!

When I first read the story a year ago, something about the character Keaton Dumas stuck with me. I could see him, hear him, feel his conflict, pain and obsessions. So much so I jumped at the opportunity to expand his tale and dig deeply into the ever-changing psyche of a young man’s first love. A story that is messy and intriguing. Was My Girl is actually the second installment in a trilogy based on the Dumas clan. Madame Z has cleverly created a world centered of the love and losses of four brothers in a small town in Texas. Our collaboration starts somewhere in the middle and skips to the end. Soon to be released by Madame Z will be the prequel: Jet Skis at Midnight. Followed by a short but very sweet story focused on the elusive brother Chris Dumas. I will provide you the details on both books as they develop. Trust me one peek into the lives of the Dumas brothers and you’ll be wanting to know and explore more.
