On May 15th I reached another milestone in my life. I turned 40. And this year was the best of all birthday’s. Five of my closest friends and my sister joined me on Amelia Island. A place I call home. Where my mom was born, where my roots are from. This time I wasn’t visiting the familiar. This time I spent my birthday by the sea reflecting on all I’ve done, and I plan to do with my closest friends.

Maybe? Turning forty is kind of liberating. You finally reach the point where you care so little about what others think. You know so much more about yourself and what makes you happy. Life get’s easier that way. Well for me it has. I could never do my insecure 20′s again. Or my work myself to the bone 30′s.
